STORY : These whales had a very special job that helped the Earth breathe. They would swim up and down in the ocean, diving deep into the dark waters and then rising back up to the surface.
When whales swim to the surface to breathe, they bring with them lots of nutrients from the deep sea. These nutrients help tiny creatures called plankton grow. Now, plankton may be small, but they are very important. They produce most of the oxygen we breathe!
The more whales swim and dive, the more they help plankton grow. And the more plankton we have, the more oxygen is created. In fact, these tiny plankton help create 70% of all the oxygen on Earth. So, whales are like underwater gardeners, helping the Earth stay healthy and full of fresh air. 🌊🐋
Every time a whale swims and breathes, it's helping the world breathe too! And that's why we must take care of whales, because they take care of us and our planet.
